Personally I am tired of hearing this. Kyle Petty is no longer
involved in Petty Enterprises. This tells me alot. One or more
or a combination of things seem to have occurred.
l. Kyle was fed up and left.
2. Richard has an ego and wants any Petty imput 'his."
3. Gillette took sides.
Any way you look at it, to have Kyle say he is not involved
in any Petty enterprises suggests he and his father are not on
the same page in regards to it. What father does not include
his son in some tiny percentage of his business?
I am so tired of hearing and reading "How can Nascar go on
without Richard Petty?" Just fine I say. He is an old man.
He can not be expected to be up with the times, six generations
from when he started.
Let 'correction' occur - even in the Petty family.

A tenuous time for this sport.
Listening to the news and satellite radio, one hears of terminations
and major changes which will cause some changes in the look of
Nascar in 2009.
Just a year ago I was hearing how expensive it was for a fan to vist
a race. Perhaps this will change as the economy changes. Where is
the Nascar fan in all of this change? Has the fan found a way to
survive the lean times ahead while including visits to Nascar in
their routine?
Teams are disbanding, re-branding, merging and even a couple are
in Limbo. Instead of being excited about the possibilities ahead,
writers and announcers seem to be spreading doom. I say, "Stop."
To quote Dale Jr., "It is a correction."
Corrections usually mean change for the good, getting rid of the
unnecessary, rethinking the present and making it better.
Let us hope this correction will make only stronger and more
interesting Nascar Racing.
